ICSI with In Vitro Fertilization

WHAT DOES IT ENTAIL?

In vitro fertilization is a technique that allows the oocytes to be fertilized with the partner’s sperm sample in the laboratory (“in vitro”).

In the case of IMSI, the selection of the sperm is done in an «Advanced Micromanipulation Station» with an optic that allows us to visualize the sperm up to 16,000 times (in IVF-ICSI, they are visualized at a maximum of 400 times) and select sperm with normal morphology.

The embryos formed after fertilization are kept in culture in state-of-the-art incubators (Blastocyst Culture-Geri Incubator-Eeva) that ensure the best conditions for their development. They are then transferred to the woman’s uterus to continue their development.

WHEN IS IT RECOMMENDED?

  • Failed Artificial Insemination attempts.
  • Male Factor: moderate / severe alteration of semen
  • Moderate / severe endometriosis
  • Bilateral tubal occlusion
  • HIV or HCV seropositive patients
  • Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis of the embryo

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

  • Adequate ovarian reserve and age
  • Normal uterine cavity
