Pre-natal diagnosis Mother to child medicine

The possibility to perform 3-4D ultrasounds and the increasingly perfected definition of latest ultrasound devices brings us closer to the intra-uterus world of our future child.

The pre-natal diagnosis refers to all actions carried out during the pregnancy aiming at detecting a possible congenital defect. The Prenatal Diagnostic unit consists of professionals specializing in Mother to child medicine, trained in University Hospitals of Level III in ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis and possessing vast experience in this domain.

The purpose of the Prenatal Diagnosis is to:

  • Consider the legal stoppage of pregnancy in case the defect would be very important and/or incompatible with life.
  • The intra-uterus treatment of a series of anomalies.
  • Plan an improvement in the delivery.
